Great, it is in the book. I live not far from Mount Sinai. I am on the East side between 1st and 2nd, smack center of Manhattan. I've lived in NYC for 30 years. So, please give me a call beforehand so we can plan: 212 750 6969. I'm very curious about your patter about your Grandpa, I'll explain why when we meet. Thanks for writing back Shawn. -- Ben
I'll be in NY for a lecture tour in March. I'll be at Mount Sinai Center on March 17th to be exact, but have others in the area too. If you're not gigging I'll see you then ...
Ben: Just read your comments about wanting to go on cruise ships. I've worked many of them and going our in Oct. for the first time in years. I see where you have talked to Paul Romhanny - he writes a good column on the New Zealand Emagazine or whatever it is called. Paul mentions cruises all the time. Also in the New Zealand "Magicana" this month - Aug. read Bernard Reid -- he has done it for over 35 years. I would go crazy if I worked that long on a ship. Three weeks is max for me. Bev - b
Hello Ben, haha long time no see,,,, yes,,
How are ya doing, all is well here in Melbourne missis just had a kid, soooo lots of noise and nappies, trying to keep the peace and folding in my little house, betwwen shows and poker tourniments, actually got to go and play a card game at the casino now,,, chat soon
Hi Ben - Too bad we didn't chat in NY. I guess that was at the Tribeca?
Thanks for your nice comments.
By the way I was never particularily happy with the "elephant vanish" but it served a purpose: The producer wanted it and I had to come up with something that could be built comparatively cheap for a one time shot. Then Barry Ashton put in his two cents with his costuming ideas (ugh), but what can I say?
Aha...yet another social network but this looks good.. if nothing else the listing of cruise bookers is worth the time on here..
Re: movies... I am in the middle of a Peter Sellers festival with my netflix .. boy ... there were some lame ones back in the late 50s ... Mouse that Roared is the best from that time frame so far...
Many thanks Jim! I would not have seen that had you not pointed me to that. I will check it out, not that I really want to spend that much time away...I have just never played a ship and would like to experience it and Paul tells me that it is a good life. So, I'd like to try it and also has helped me enormously with my preparations and reel and marketing and feels that I am absolutely right for ships. We shall wsee what they think. I have approached the two biggies in NY and FL as far as agents go, and neigther even responded to me, while another 4 did saying politely they liked my stuff, but...not now. Where are you now? I am in New York on 55th Street and the weather has been wonderful, though I have a cold. As we say here..."right back atcha" -- that means I submit equal good wishes.

Thailand is GREAT!! I've been here two years and love it.
As far as cruising goes, check out our Cruise Industry Resources, part of ENTSLIST.
You'll find extensive an listing of cruise bookers, cruise lines, industry links and an article by me about working in the industry.
Right now, the industry is holding it's breath over the impact of high oil prices (like everyone else).
